It's a combination Xfree and your mouse. If you have a two-button mouse, the
way to emulate the third button is pushing both buttons. So X doesn't want to
respond to a one-button press right away, in case you're going to be pressing
both buttons, and it hasn't registered the second button yet.

Get a three button mouse.
