Subject: Printing problem

Greetings all:
  I have a 386/33 with 12meg ram and a 200 meg Linux drive.
The system is running .99pl5 (no problems). But I have a Canon
BJ-300 bubble jet printer that I can't seem to get to work properly
When I do print I get something like the following on my page.
This is an example
                  of what happens
at the end of every line.
                                                          Quite annoying if
you want to print something longer than 80 char.

Now, I have looked in the manpages for everyting that I can think of,
but I am still lost. I believe that the problem lies in printcap, but
I do not know what it should say./

When I print I use "lpr [filename]", and except for the return problem
it prints fine.
Does anybody know how to correctly configure Linux for this type of
printer. Or, better yet, who would like to tell me how to configure
a printer in general?

Thanks in advance.
