Hi All,
I am running Linux 0.99 PL4 with an SMC 16 ethernet card. I am trying to
communicate with a Commodore Amiga 3000 fitted with a Commodore Ethernet
card
and running Commodore's AS225 TCP/IP package. I have used this same
hardware
to talk with KA9Q on the PC.
When I attempt to 'PING' the Linux box from the Amiga, I get 'Packet
discarded due to lack of memory' on the Linux console. With a little bit
of investigation
I have found that this is caused by the received packet having a length of
over
65000 (kmalloc can only allocate 4K max). I don't tnhink that the Amiga is
sending a bad packet, so can anyone think of a reason for the PC to receive
a bad packet?
If I attempt to PING the Amiga from Linux, the TX & RX lights flash on the
PC ethernet card, but PING doesn't see a reply.
Any ideas/fixes would be appreciated
Paul
