Hi all!
Yesterday i have encountered a severe SCSI error. Under heavy load (3 compile
sessions, 1 cp-session) i got the following message:
aha1740.mbxout wait!
SCSI host 0 timed out aborting command
SCSI host 0 timed out aborting command
After that the whole system hangs and after a reboot my file systems were
corrupted.
My equipment:
486/33 EISA
16 MB RAM
Quantum LPS 240S (host 0)
Syquest SQ5110
Adaptec AHA1742A (enhanced mode)
Linux 0.99pl5 with xiafs-0.7 patches applied
SLS 1.0 distribution
sda1 msdos partition (30 MB)
sda2 with extfs (102400 blocks, root device)
sda3 with xiafs-0.7 (102400 blocks)
I had this error some time ago but i decided to reinstall the newest SLS
distribution and to hope that this bug won't occure again.
(BTW: xfsck -a corrected the xiafs but efsck -a didn't his job very well -
free inode count and free zones count are reported to be wrong every
time i invoke efsck although the fs has been changed by efsck)
