I've been looking into pdksh, etc for one simple reason. For shell scripts,
I'd prefer to have a simple, down to earth bourne shell without the
interactive user stuff, visual history, and other frivolities. I remember
seeing the data portion of bash's taking up a non-trivial amount of space
during a hierachical make like when compiling the X server or (to a lesser
extent) the Linux kernel.
I would like to try gutting bash but I've got other priorities right now.
(Thank cockatrice I'm pseudo-cured of NH3.1 for the time being.)
