Several weeks ago someone posted a question about trying to
get an Ultrastor 14N to work with the Linux SLS kernel.

I now find myself in the same situation.

Setup: Ultrastor 14N, Toshiba Mk438FB SCSI-2 drive,
       SLS a1 as of 2/19/92.

The only problem I have is that the boot image will not
recognize the Ultrastor 14N SCSI host. There were reports
of a problem with the SLS boot image not looking for the
default I/O port address for the Ultrastor 14F. I have
tried all of the possible I/O port addresses for the 14N
and have not had any luck.

I have checked the ultrastor header file for the latest SCSI
distribution and all of the IRQs and addresses seem to be
the same for the 14F and the 14N. The differences I know
of between the two controllers are that the 14N lacks
bus-mastering and does not have any on board cache.

Any suggestions? Or should I shell out the money for an Adaptec?
