We, libc developers, know the problem and are working on it. The libc
4.3 was kind of rushed out due to Xfree86 1.2 without extensive testing.
The fact that I didn't use bash may contribute to the problem. My /bin/sh
is linked to pdksh 4.8 and I am using zsh 2.3.1. That is why I didn't see
any prolem with libc 4.3.
