Hold down Ctrl and hold down the middle mouse button while in an XTerm
(if you only have 2 buttons then hold them both down). Up pops a
menu; the first item on that menu is "Enable Scrollbar". Voila.

Also, "cmdtool" itself is included in the SLS release, though it's
much slower than xterm.
