Nope he does not work with 486slc machine ;-)
I have tested Linux with 0.97PL2 + net patches, 0.99.2,
0.99.4, and currently running 0.99.5 with DP8390 stuff,
and Linux _does_ work with my 486slc board. Did you
enable kernel math emulation?
The board is Forex386-sx with Cyrix 486slc/33 with
AMI bios, currently only 6MB memory. Linux works
fine with my motherboards (386/20,386/25+387,486sx/33,
486slc/33).
