Look Mike,
I'm sorry I wasn't nice to you. I did send you unsolicited mail and it was
intentionally derogatory and inflammatory.
I was incensed by your attitude and the way you decided to share you
criticisms.
I did not, though, post my views. I sent them to you in private e-mail; as
I was hoping to avoid the escalating flame war that has unfortunately
occurred. I did not expect my private e-mail to be quoted to the world,
OUT OF CONTEXT.
To quote something sent to you privately, with out permission is usually
considered unethical. To do so with out providing context is doubly so.
I am not the only person to comment on this failing.
By doing this, you have defamed my character in public; showing me to be
petty and nitpicking. Thank you very much.
Perhaps I was not nice enough and I hurt your feelings. Pardon me.
Perhaps you should not have posted private correspondance, and removed an
obvious parody from the context in which it was sent. Pardon you.
Perhaps we could apologize and end this flame fest?
There, a plea for peace.
