There were a couple of nagging problems with the X 1.2 upgrade
to SLS that you should be able to fix by getting x8/zxfix.tpz

- xdm needs to be chgrp shadow and chmod g+s.
- The 75dpi fonts.dir says it is compressed. I am not using
compressed fonts. This prevented olvwm from working.
- I modified Xconfig to have more options commented out.
- Some of the header files were truncated if using efs.

IV and doc I have not got around to.
The new ghostscript, I will probably put up tomorrow without
notice. Note that this version of gs allows view outside
of X windows (using vgalib). It works, but I don't like it
cause if anything goes wrong, it is reboot time. Also, my
monitor won't support the high res. So, I set it up so
you can define which vga mode vgalib should use (as
defined in /usr/include/vga.h) using "export GSVGAMODE=n".
I use mode n=4, when I use it at all.

Also, (David W if your listening), funny thing, but when
I fixed my 75dpi fonts problem, I was able to run xview.
Under it the font smearing problem doesn't happen?
