Subject: does linux work with >16MB and 1742 enh. mode?
Date: Sun, 21 Feb 1993 21:44:02 MET

I just read:

> THE YGGDRASIL LINUX/GNU/X OPERATING SYSTEM DISTRIBUTION
> BETA CDROM

> drive attached to one of the following controllers.
> Adaptec 1542B or 1740

Questions:

- Does Linux work with more than 16MB of memory in a EISA computer?
- Does it support the Adaptec 1740/1742 in it's enhanced mode?

Is the above CD-ROM distribution OK? Worth it's money? Alternatives?

Please reply via e-mail.

Thanks,
Kai Uwe Rommel
