Subject: using 3 ttyS* at the same time

I am trying to connect 2 terminals and a mouse to my linux machine. Connecting
each of them separately works fine. I have problems when I connect two serial
devices to two COM ports using the same IRQ (i.e. COM1 and COM3 or COM2 and
COM4). The symptoms are that I need to produce traffic alternately on the two
ports otherwise it hangs. Has somebody had the same problem? Am I doing something
wrong? Should I change the IRQ's ?

Any help would be apreciated.

P.S: I already tried several stty settings like clocal and crtscts, I also tried
to jump pin 4 and 5 and 8 and 20 of the connectors. Nothing helped sofar.
