Subject: linux and incoming telnets...

here is the settup:
        macintosh running NCSATEL
        linux box

when i telnet from the mac to linux, the login prompts me as normal. when I
type my name and press return, it echoes back the control m. why? to get it
to go on, I have to type control j (line feed).

on every other unix box i've worked with, i've never had this problem. what
gives? also, some programs also do this though at the moment, i cannot think
of them.

thanks,
greg
