Subject: HELP, it won't partion my drive
Date: Thu, 18 Feb 1993 22:27:05 GMT

First: I have a 386/33 with 8 meg ram
a future domain 1660 SCSI card (presently IRQ 5)
         st2125 100meg HD (presently SCSI ID #1)
         st1239 200meg HD (presently SCSI ID #0)
(The 200meg drive is my DOS drive, I was hopeing to dedicate
           the 100meg drive to linux)
       misc hardware:
                     wd8003 either net card
                     SoundBlaster
                     Modem
                     ET4000 based SVGA

I have tried Linux 0.96 and am presently down loading the SLS package
to see if that might help

My problem : with the above configuration the machine will boot DOS
and boot the Linux boot/root disks, but will not allow me
to partion the 100meg drive (for that mater, It doesn't appear
to recognize them either). If I change the IRQ to 10 or 11,
it will recognize SCSI ID#0 and "time out" on ID#1 and then
             appears to hang the system.

If anyone has any suggestions or hints (or further questions about how I have
the system presently configured) please E-Mail me at

Thanks in advance
