Subject: Anyone using a SCSI HD attached to a sound card?
Date: 17 Feb 1993 07:32:13 GMT

Is anyone using a SCSI hard disk attached to the SCSI port of a sound card such as SoundBlaster or PAS-16? Do the linux drivers support this?

How does the speed compare to a "normal" SCSI interface?

I already have two IDE hard disks, and I am wanting to add more disks. As I am also wanting to buy a PAS-16 sound card and a CDROM, I thought I could add an external SCSI HD to the PAS-16.

What about the new Syquest 88Mb removable HD (that can write the 44Mb cartridges)? Is it supported in this way? I like the look of this as I can also use it with my Mac and MS-DOS on different cartridges (though not at the same time :^) ).

Thanks in advance.

Steve
