Subject: XFree on a VC has problems

        There seems to be a problem with X on a VC. Sometimes the video won't
reset to the normal mode when swiching back from X to a normal VC. All you I
get is smeared lines across the screen. Sometimes it works. It has the most
problem like this when running xdm from /etc/rc.
