Subject: BIG arp problem -- need help
Date: Tue, 16 Feb 1993 16:00:11 GMT

hello,
I'm having a serious problem with the tcp part of
linux 0.99pl5. I'm sitting here doing my work as
usual - suddenly the LAN-admins call me and tell me they
have problems with my pc. After a brief look we figured out
that the pc seems to corrupt the arp tables on the lan
here is the arp-table of a dg/aviion:
phdrw2@/usr/people/gei[2.9]% arp -a 16:47
Current ARP table entries for device inen0

Hostname Internet Address Hardware Address Status
            idtuva 141.52.44.1 aa:00:04:00:65:04 temporary
            hbtig1.kfk.de 141.52.146.1 02:60:8c:6c:3e:fb temporary

            phdrw3 141.52.54.6 08:00:69:02:19:3a temporary

The entry for phdrpc1 is correct BUT why are two other machines using
the same ethernet address? btw. the longer you run the pc the more
hosts you'll get using 02:60:8c:6c:3e:fb. Funny isn't it?
equipment: noname pc 486/33 ada1542 3c503/16 shared mem at d800 irq 5
any ideas?
