The current SLS x series disk contain the xdm and xlock programs that
don't work properly with shadow passwds. A patch was posted a while
back to fix the to programs, but, I don't have it anymore.
Better yet - Peter is updating SLS tomorrow (wed), with xfree 1.2 (among
other things). This updated will have xdm and xlock that work properly
with shadow passwds.
Until you either patch your binaries -or- update your version, just
enter return at the passwd prompt (at least, that works on mine :-)
