I forgot one step in my previous post: You need to comment out the
following line in Xconfig:
        Emulate3Buttons

If this is not done, X will continue to ignore the middle Trackman button
even after all that nonesense :-)

And just in case this post beats my first post to some sites, there's a
post coming up that describes a very kludgy method of getting X to
recognize the middle Trackman button, and the above step was omitted in
the recipe.
