I don't know about the 0.99pl2 kernel, but I'm using the 0.99 pl4 kernel
and I didn't need to do any patching at all. In fact, just about the only
patching I needed to do at one point was to change the interrupt when my
XT hard disk controller used the interrupt normally allocated to my mouse,
IRQ5. I had to move the mouse to IRQ2 and tell the kernel to sense it at
IRQ9 (cascade interrupt, ya know?). I've since swapped them back to mouse
being at IRQ5 where the kernel expects it to be and put the XT hard disk
at IRQ2 and told the kernel to sense IRQ9 instead and everything's both
hunky & dory.
