Subject: very minor query to 0.99pl5

I've just compiled the 0.99pl5 kernel and it works fine. The stability probs I
was having with telnet have been readicated. In fact, I find it very difficult
to think of something I want from an os that is not working perfectly well
under linux.

It is a very minor point, but when I log off from a virtual console, both
"finger" and "who" realise this immediately, but when I call "last", it does
not seem to register this fact. Is this normal?

While I am thinking about it, "last" registers a "reboot" as a "crash". This
raises the question as to whether or not "reboot" is really safe.
