Ok, I have received enough replies about why anon ftp isn't working for me
that I had better tell you how I got it to work. Just about every single
person has told me that ftp does a chroot() and that symbolic links won't
work, etc etc. But that wasn't my problem. Further inspection showed that
the library /home/ftp/lib/libc.so.4.2 was set to permissions of "-rwx--x--x".
Since a user ftp'ing in is the "other" user, the bit is set only for the
execution and not for reading... All I had to do was do a "chmod go+r" on
that library and voila! My anon ftp began to work! (Well, I also did the
chmod on the other directories and files in /home/ftp since they were also
the same way... except, I didn't do it to /home/etc/*). I had no sym links
or nothing of that sort... they were all real files.

Hope this helps...
Scott
