Topic: Current Trends in Software Patents
386BSD, the research and educational system for the
386/486 PC, has had an exciting first year. During this
time its active user base has grown to over 250,000 (according
to "UNIX Magazin", August 1992. In this informal talk Bill
Jolitz will discuss some of the highlights of 386BSD's first
year, including current 386BSD work to appear in 0.2 as well
as future directions which will impact these areas.
Who: Bill Jolitz
Bill Jolitz is the creator of 386BSD and coauthor of the
popular "Porting UNIX to the 386" feature series in Dr. Dobbs
Journal. He was principal developer of both 2.8 and 2.9 BSD at
the University of California at Berkeley, and the chief
architect of National Semiconductor's GENIX project. Bill writes
and speaks on 386BSD and other technical areas of interest such
as TCP/IP, high-speed networking, and ISDN. A book entitled
"386BSD From the Inside-Out" will be available in 1993. Bill is
currently affiliated with TeleMuse, a technical consulting firm.

but Coast resembles a driveway, so don't get confused.
Take the Amphitheatre Way exit off Highway 101, turn
left on Garcia, look for Bldg 5, and then the sign for
Bldg 6.
