I get the same warning WD8013 board not found at i/o = 280, but I managed to
install linux(SLS - minimal base system, a1 - a4). Here is what I did:

  After booting disk a1, mounting the root disk (disk a2), use fdisk.
       /# fdisk /dev/sd0x -- where 0 is your Hard drive number, a, b, ...
                              -- where x is the Hard drive partition, which
                                 Linux is going to be installed.
  After fdisk, reboot(make sure you note the "Blocks" for target partition,
  during fdisk).

  /# mkfs /dev/sd0x "Blocks"
  /# doinstall /dev/sd0x
  
Just follow the rest of the program instructions.
