Hello All,

Okay here is the answer:

I had an out of date A1 disk. Why? Because I downloaded A1 and A2 from
ftp.uu.net instead of tsx-11.mit.edu.

Why did I do that? (serves him right I hear...)

Because my internet account has a diskquota imposed of 1 Mbyte I simply
cannot get A1 and A2 from tsx-11.

ftp.uu.net splits these files into

ftp.uu.net offer two alternatives:

a1.Z 600k and a1.Z-split

The first file (the one I got) is dated jan. 11 THIS FILE IS OUTDATED
AND DOES NOT WORK.
The second is a directory containing 3 parts each limited to 256k
these files are dated jan. 27 THESE FILES ARE OKAY.

Conclusion:

Beware of ftp.uu.net file a1.Z it is incorrect. (even now)

Thanks, to those who replied.

Jos
