I had the same problem, but I could find a trick, well er, a workaround,
not very elegant, but it works...

First time I 'startx', everything starts fine, but I can't move the mouse pointer.
I press <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<BS> to stop X, then I 'startx' again .... and it works!!!

Any suggestions for a more elegant startup procedure ??? Thanx.

Stephan.
