From: jahoward@iastate.edu (Jim) Subject: 0.99pl5 Serial Question Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1993 00:39:03 GMT
I just downloaded and installed the complete kernel sources for .99pl5
from nic.funet.fi. Here is my question.
After compiling (flawlessly I may add), I boot up the new kernel,
and it says serial device driver 2.91 (I think it was 2.91)
anyway, What I need to know since I have a .v32bis modem is...
Is this an updated serial driver with the high speed patches, or do I
need to install the kernel serial patches to serial.c??
The reason I ask, I guess, is that someone said something about serial
drivers 3.? on a news post to this group.
Any insight will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jim
