Subject: lpr works, but not on dvi files

hello again...

i've finally downloaded tex for my linux pc at home.
i even tested it; so far it looks like it works
(it produces a dvi file.)

when i try to print the dvi file with lpr -d test.dvi,
i get nothing. i tried lpr -D test.dvi and got some very strange
results. (i didn't see -D in the man file, but i thought why not,
nothing else worked...)

i have a 386 with about 60 meg hd space, an lpr setup that worked when
i tried lpr test.tex, and an epson-compatible dot-matrix printer.

is there a set of print drivers that i'm missing? i didn't see anything
in the readme's about it at all. lpr's man page says that lpr -d
will print .dvi files, so i can't figure out why that doesn't work.

thanx in advance.
