Subject: HELP|| Can't get X11 run on my machine :-(

 hi,

  I have read all the FAQs and all the tutorials. Nevertheless I can't make
  XWindows run on machine. The chip on my video card is a TRIDENT TVGA 8900C
  and I got a HYUNDAI HCM - 421E Super VGA monitor. I don't have manuals
  for both the video card and the monitor but I have spent hours editing
  Xconfig. startx just screws up my screen and the system freezes.
Any help will be appreciated,
