I have a Maxtor XT-2190 hard drive which has 1223 cylinders.
Running fdisk from the SLS 0.99p2 release gives a warning about
drives over 1023 cyls that some software may not be compatible.
Can anyone tell me any specifics about what in Linux may have
problems?
I know of one Dos program that doesn't like more than 1023 cyls,
which is the DiskManager low-level format program. Does anyone
know of any low-level format software that I can use to format
the whole drive? Right now I'm losing out on about 30 megs. Thanks.
