Well, there seems to be at least one more problem. I tried out a password
with '1' (that's the number one) as the first character. Whoops - I couldn't
login anylonger. Thank God it wasn't the root account.
But I'm not running SLS and have the normal passwd, no shadows... so this
might not apply to you.
BTW, you don't have a root password? And you're on the net?
Hackers of the world - here we have a free root account - go get it...
Okok, didn't want to be nasty, but what is the point of having shadow passwords
if you don't have passwords at all? I wouldn't consider a login ignoring empty
passwords a bug... anyway all I do is login as myself (or the user doing what
I want to do - somewhat like xrooms) and do a su when I feel a need for it.
