Subject: Q: Format of the bad block list for "mkfs -l bad-block-list"??

Could someone tell me the format of the bad block list for the -l
option of mkfs? i.e.

   mkfs -l bad-block-list-filename /dev/hdxx xxxxx

("mkfs -c /dev/hdxx xxxx" is taking VERY VERY ... long for me with
lots of HD timeout and controller reset.)
