First of all, Ozy gets all the credit =)

Ok, for people wanting to login as root onto their linux machine via
telnet, you may come across some problems unless you do the following:
In the file /etc/login.defs, change
        CONFIG tty0:tty1:tty2:tty3:tty4
to read
        CONFIG tty0:tty1:tty2:tty3:tty4:ttyp0:ttyp1:ttyp2:ttyp3

i.e. Change the CONFIG line in the file to include the ttyp?s
