From: reinert@buttercup.cs.odu.edu (Ken Reinert) Subject: HELP! (again) I'm forced to use DOS to dial out! Date: 8 Feb 1993 15:24:00 GMT
(This is the second posting of these questions... bear with me, since
I must boot DOS _*ugh*_ if I want to dial out)
I've encountered two problems since upgrading from .99p2 to .99p4. First
is that I can no longer use the modem on /dev/ttyS0 to talk to the outside
world... I get a "can't read | write character" message when using kermit.
Second problem: when I attempt to start up the printer daemon from in lpc,
I get "connect: invalid argument" (or something close to it... and, of
course, I can't try it now since I'm running DOS :( )
Outside that, everything else works just the same as it did with pl2...
BTW, I did a new install vs. applying the patches to the kernel.
Anyone have ideas? (I think the serial port problem was addressed about
a week or so ago, but I can't dig back that far in the newsgroup anymore.)
Thanks,
Ken
P.S. Thanks to those who answered my question about autoconf.h
