I just tried an EFS partition of 120M on my 660M ESDI drive. After about
20 minutes of HD: write_intr error messages after a mkefs -c /dev/hdb7, and
a 'successful' efsck I attempted to copy /usr/src into the freshly
mounted partitio - Results:

    HD: write_intr errors
Unable to copy - too many symbolic links (on files in /usr/bin)
Kernel Panic! (didn't write down the exact message, stupid!)

So IMHO, the extfs don't cut it for me! This is an ESDI disk, and I see
many who say they are running it on an IDE, so your mileage may vary.

I've asked in this group about fs's that will successfully handle an ESDI
disk, but have recieved no replies. Anyone?

Later,
  John
