Linux should be able to boot on a PS2 machine, but because the MCA
architecture and/or hard disk controler specs are licensed by IBM for $$$ and
are not available publicly, no one has been able to add the proper
code to Linux to allow it to run off a hard disk. I've heard discussions
about working on it on the MCA channel of the Linux mailing-list, but
last I heard, this was the problem that was indefinitely postponing any
adoption of PS/2 or MCA machines into the Linux kernel.
