FYI: is was using 99p4 + latest ALPHA-diff (which includes these serial
patches).
I switched back to 99p4 with `old' serial drivers and now everything works
OK with the same init/getty(NOT using O_NONBLOCK)/inittab and modem
settings... There's obviously something wrong with these new patches.
