Subject: a rather UNIQUE problem with X
Date: 5 Feb 1993 19:11:12 GMT

Just installed linux 99p2 (SLS) last night. Even getting Xconfig set up
for my trident 8900C was not too much of a bother. I can start X and all
is well, start and kill windows, resize screen with ctrl-alt-plus...

BUT

when I exit X windows the screen blanks but stays in graphics mode.
I can type sync or ls to spin the hard drive, so nothing has hanged.

How go I get back to text mode? If there is a way to return to text mode,
can I get X to do it automatically on exit.

The above problem applies when using both the EXIT item in the window
manager menu, or the ctrl-alt-backspace hot key.

Hardware:
   486DX 33MHz, ISA bus
64M linux partition and 12M swap partition.
   Logitech bus mouse
   Trident 8900C 1M SVGA
   Amazing M48 SVGA monitor

Thanks in advance,

Scott Little

PS: Is there any truth to the rumor of Stacker runing under dusemu?
    If so what version?
