XFree86 1.2 does support dual headed servers with VGA and HGA cards.
HGA server has been running for a while now, but I'm not sure if anyone
has tested it on Linux. You might want to contact XFree86 beta team,
and see if you can sucessfully build and run it on your Linux system.
