Subject: Videotiming for Taxan Multivision 795

Hello everybody,

just to prevent flames:

I did read the FAQ, the README, the CONFIG, the XConfig.Notes and I DO
understand how to calculate videotimings based on these notes.

It it just the case that I haven't gotten it to work yet after trying quite
a few days and so i decided to ask the pro's in c.o.l.

My equipment is an et4000 based graphics card (Mentor) and a Taxan
Mutivision 795. It works great in 640x480 mode but won't in any other.

The graphics card has five oscillators: 25 28 36 45 and 62 MHz.
X reports 25 28 40 36 0 0 45 62 14 0 20 18 0 0 22 and 31.
The monitor has a maximun vertical frequency of 100 Hz and a maximum
horizontal frequency of 57kHz and is capable of a resolution of 1024x768
in non-interlaced mode.

I would greatly appreciate if anybody who tried this configuration out
(and has gotten it to work in a mode greater than 640x480) could drop
me a note. Even some further information about the monitor (sync-pluses
and timings) would help.

One more question:
The graphic-card manual says given a resolution of 1024x768 it uses the
62MHz oscillator producing a horizontal frequency of 48KHz and a vertical
freq. of 60Hz.
Is it possible at all to get this card to produce 70Hz vertical?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Gruss Benjamin
