Subject: 387SX kills ghostscript
Date: Sat, 21 Aug 1993 16:53:25 GMT

   I just installed a 387SX into my 386SX-25 system running Linux 0.99pl9,
which was loaded from SLS 1.01. Now ghostscript gives me the error message
"Floating point exception" on Postscript files that used to work, and still
run fine on my Postscript printer.
I tried re-compiling the kernel (scary!) setting the CONFIG_MATH_EMULATION
flag to "no" in the config.in file - still no luck. (BTW, the new Image file
is almost twice as big as the old file - what happened?)
I also tried re-installing SLS 1.01 from scratch. I recall an older SLS
asking me if I had a co-processor - this version didn't ask.
   Do I have to re-compile ghostscript? I didn't see a "numeric co-processor"
flag for gcc in the man - is there one?
Other programs run fine (idraw does run significantly faster!), and the
(MSDOS) program that came with the 387SX says it's installed correctly.

   HELP!
