Be aware, however, that some braindamaged OSes (I know of SCO, don't know
what the other commercial Unixes do) _do_ use that flag after booting,
so if you want to boot both SCO and Linux from one HD you'll have to
mark the SCO partition as active and install LILO in the MBR.
