I had the same question just two weeks ago. Well the answer is that it
should work. At least it does on mine, and I have a similar setup. It
sounds to me like you need to put the system files on your dos drive.
If you have DOS 5.0 or higher then all you need to do is use the sys
command to place the system files on your disk. If you have a lower
version, then you can use sys only if you formatted with the option to
save space for the system files. Otherwise, you'll need to do a
format/s.
