Well, I found that a tseng et4000 clone doesnt like
the bus speed on my machine. I have an opti 386/40 board.
Cache => 2-1-1-1 linux likes it, but vga card puts
little black bars on screen, in both dos and xwindows
graphics applications. More bars appear when a window
is dragged sideways, but not vertically. ALso more bard
appear when window scrolls.
Cache=> 3-1-1-1 linux hates this, but vga card likes it
under DOS.
Trying several video games seemed to show the graphics
card acting up at 2-1-1-1 but ok at 3-1-1-1.
I dont want to give up the performance , and linux doesnt
seem to want to run at all at 3-1-1-1 -- it boots but then
after is REAL SLOOOOOOW.
I can take this back for a full refund. My monitor wants
60Hz + 48Khz for 1024x768. Any ideas what card to try next?
(price <= $200).
I have a 16 bit paradise with 512k. It cant do 256 colors.
It works great on mono.
