I just grabbed the latest SLS distribution and saw exactly the same
thing on my UltraStor 34F. It would boot fine off the SLS 1.03
floppy, but it refused to boot from the root disk. I had to change
the lilo config file that was genereated from "boot = /dev/sda1" to
"boot = /dev/sda" and grab LILO .11 from tsx-11. I couldn't get the
one that came with SLS 1.03 to work for me.
Also, SLS 1.03 seems to be missing the UltraStor patches that have
been floating around the net for a while to allow tape drives to work
with it. I've been told that 99p12alpha will fix this sort of problem
(but I have my doubts, since the Slackware release didn't boot my
machine).
I have the ALPHA p12 kernel sources downloading now, so I'll give it a
go when they finish....
