Subject: [HELP]Can't display Chinese BIG-5 Code in Gopher with Linux

Hi, ErveryBody,

   Recently, we would like to setup a gopher system in our
   Linux system. However, the gopher can NOT display Chinese
   BIG5 directory in our system. How need I do , if I want
   our gopher to display Chinese Big-5 (8-bits) code ?

   We installed a SLS 1.02 package, using its default gcc compiler,
   I heard that gcc can not handle the 8-bits code, is it true ?
   (SunOS C compiler can handle 8-bits Chinese BIG5 code)
