Hopefully the subject line didnt gross you out too much.
I just got a Tseng Labs ET4000 clone board (VGA master, with
a goldfish on the front. no company on the box)
The Chipset is a ET4000AX-TC6100AF with a hicolor24-sc15025 DAC.
I am running a microsoft bus mouse with it.
XWindows works in 256color mode. however, if you move a window around
several times, or if text gets to the bottom of an xterm, the window
is randomly infected with small horizontal black bars (1 pixel thick).
Microsoft windows did the same thing, except dragging the mouse caused
the marks to be left behind (and thus the cute subject line). Windows was
cured by installing the 800x600x32768 color driver off of the driver disk.
Obviously I cant do this with XFree 1.3 :-(
Any ideas? I can return the board for free within a couple days.
In particular , is this a clocks/ monitor timing problem?
Note: I have tried both wait state jumper settings on the board.
Thanks
