there was some photo-cd to gif code posted to alt.sources earlier this
year (or maybe late last year.) Then a kodak lawyer posted that it
wasn't a licensed implementation, and the newsgroup melted down within
minutes. You can probably still find the code somewhere, later
versions were posted...
