Playing with the 'windows' (not Windoze :) setting also helps. I have it
set to 10, and I can get about 1.4kbyte/s with ncftp on a 14.4k link
transferring compressed files. Since I have to escape quite a lot of
characters to get it to work, I am sure you can get better results if
you have a cleaner link than me...
